Design rules for clear stock (no surprises)
- Unprinted areas are transparent. If your design relies on white, call it out so we can confirm the right build.
- Contrast matters more on clear. Light artwork can disappear depending on what’s behind the label.
- Small type needs discipline. Clear stock can make thin strokes look weaker in real handling.
Adhesive + container reality
- Plastic type matters: PET/HDPE/PP behave differently (adhesive direction changes).
- Application temperature: cold application + condensation is where “perfect labels” fail fast.
- Squeeze containers: flexible containers can cause wrinkling and edge lift without the right spec.
Finish choice: gloss vs matte
- Gloss usually blends with clear containers and maximizes color pop.
- Matte reduces glare but can reveal the “edge” more depending on the container.
