How do I avoid labels peeling in the fridge or freezer?

Last updated: 2026-01-05

Cold storage isn’t just “cold.” It’s condensation + surface energy issues that cause edge lift and peel.

What to specify (so labels stick)

  • Film face stock (often performs better than paper when wet)
  • Cold/wet adhesive direction (tell us “fridge/freezer” explicitly)
  • Application conditions (applied warm then chilled vs applied cold)

Common mistakes

  • Applying labels to cold, wet containers
  • Choosing paper without protection for wet handling
  • Ignoring container texture (micro-texture reduces bond)

Tell us your container + storage conditions and we’ll recommend the construction.
